Funding and strategy are key to growth, says Moore
FINANCE directors play a crucial role in delivering the strategy and funding that allow companies to drive forward growth strategies.
That’s the view of Dean Moore, who has played a key role in the growth of Manchester home shopping specialist N Brown.
The achievements of finance directors will be celebrated at the North West Finance Director of the Year Awards later this year. Entries are now being accepted for the awards.
N Brown, whose brands include Jacamo, SimplyBe, and High and Mighty, had sales of £380m in the six months to September.
Mr Moore, who won the Outstanding Achievement award at last year’s ceremony, told TheBusinessDesk.com: “It’s about driving the company strategy and making sure you facilitate what needs to be in place to achieve it, such as funding or cost saving structures.
He added: “We’ve got lots to do and we’re very successful. Current trading is up 10% and in retailing that’s bucking the trend. We’re doing very well, we’re making over £90m a year in pre-tax profit.
“It’s all about making sure the strategy’s in place and make sure the funds are there for delivery. We put in place a £380m facility 18 months ago and that’ll carry us through to 2016.”

Judging will take place during November with the black tie awards dinner on November 28 at The Hilton Hotel, Manchester.
