Aerospace supplier Kilgour seals growth funding

A LANCASHIRE aerospace components manufacturer has agreed a £1.4m funding deal to help sales take off in domestic and international markets.
Family-owned enterprise Kilgour Industries, which employs 60 people at its site on the Redmarsh Industrial Estate, Thornton-Cleveleys, says it will use the funding from Santander Corporate Banking to assist with its continued expansion, both in the UK and overseas, as well as support plans to move to larger premises in the future.
Founded in 1996, Kilgour manufactures parts for aircraft engines and brake systems and a number of other smaller components for almost all of the major Boeing and Airbus programmes.
In 1998, the company set up its own metal treatments division, Kilgour Metal Treatments, to allow it to manufacture and treat components in- house, therefore improving efficiency and control over production.
Chief executive Ray Kilgour said: “Despite the difficult times, we are confident and ambitious about the future and thrilled that Santander will be there to help us going forward.”
Phillip Roscoe, relationship director at Santander Corporate Banking, said: “The Kilgour family business is an excellent example of a strong local, Lancashire business. They offer a truly world-class service, and have developed strong links with the global aerospace industry.”
