Village Nursery owners on acquisition trail

THE owners of a successful Manchester childcare business is looking for sites in an expansion drive.

Ian and Julie Lightley have owned The Village Nursery on Trafford Park since 2006, and in that time invested in it to more than double its capacity and improve its facilities.

The Lightleys invested in a £500,000 major overhaul that has helped turnover grow from £390,000 to £700,000.

Mr Lightley said: “We have transformed The Village Nursery significantly, both in terms of its physical size, occupancy numbers and service provision.

“In 2007, we commenced a major capital project. This has more than doubled the size of the nursery and increased the registered number of children that we are able to care for, from 63 to 131.

“Our aim is to build on our recent success and replicate it across new locations. By creating a series of professional facilities, we intend to bolster our occupancy levels and profitability further, whilst ensuring that our quality levels are at the forefront of the industry.”
