Ixis acquires Wrexham web developer

WARRINGTON web firm Ixis has bought a developer based in Wrexham called Leafish.

Ixis, which specialises in building sites on the open source Drupal platform, said the deal was part of a plan to become the largest Drupal-dedicated firm in the region.

Leafish directors Paul Byrne and Dylan Sides will join the company as part of the acquisition. The financial details were not disclosed.

Ixis co-founder Chris Haslam said: “We have a defined strategy for growth and this deal is a key pillar in that process, and to becoming the largest dedicated Drupal company in the North West. Having worked successfully with Leafish on a number of projects, it felt like the natural next step to formalise our relationship.

“This past year has been pivotal for the business and we have begun to unlock our potential, with several high profile client wins and some exciting developments within our team.

Paul Byrne said: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Ixis and their clients. After a successful eight years developing and hosting websites at Leafish, we are keen to meet this new challenge and bring our business and experience to a new environment.”

In February Ixis was confirmed as a supplier to the government’s £60m cloud computing initiative, G-Cloud.

It means it is one of 250 suppliers on the government’s ‘Cloudstore’, an online marketplace where cloud computing suppliers are listed and rated for future procurement by public sector departments.
