Saffran adds to spice to Trafford Centre mix

INTERNATIONAL restaurant chain Saffran has opened its first UK premises at the Trafford Centre.

The healthy eating concept eatery, founded in Iceland and with sites in the US, has created around 20 jobs at the 300m sq restaurant which can seat 150 diners.

SAffran offers a menu of fresh exotic ingredients at low prices and low calorific value – its main menu items cost less than £10 and containing less than 650 calories.

Jay Jamchi, president at Saffran said: “Our chefs have travelled the world to create a menu that offers a variety of taste for consumers young and old.  By only using natural ingredients, (we don’t use any white flour, white sugars, or MSG ingredients in our menu) making our own sauces, dressings and breads, and not frying any food, we are able to keep the taste high, yet the calories low.

“The reason why we’ve selected Manchester as our launch city is because the prominence The Trafford Centre offers.

“People of the North West have a reputation for great style and great taste.  With hundreds of different cuisines available within Greater Manchester, we thought we could offer diners something they’ve not tasted before – that tastes great, and is also healthy.”
