Nycomm snaps up Videonations

SALFORD-based communications supplier Nycomm Group, has snapped up a North West video conferencing specialist Videonations.

The business, based in Broadheadth near Altrincham, has around 20 staff, and has been acquired for an undisclosed sum.

Julian Niman, chairman of Nycomm says the deal will boost his company’s capabilities in providing unified communications to its network of resellers.

He explained: “We have been looking for some time for the right partner to help accelerate our future growth. Our market research predicts significant acceleration in video conferencing in the small and medium-sized business market.

“In partnership with our resellers we are particularly effective in that space. It is our intention to capture the same share of the video market that we have in the communication solutions market for the last 30 years”.

Led by managing director Ian Carter, Videonations was founded in 2011 and is a specialist video conferencing, audio visual and VaaS (Video as a Service) integrator, with offices in London and as well as the North West.

It delivers a broad spectrum of high-definition video conferencing equipment; from desktop systems for one-to-one communication, room video conferencing and tele-presence for group collaboration, to infrastructure solutions for multipoint video conferencing.

Mr Niman added: “We see video forming an increasingly important part of the communications landscape and felt the need to acquire a high calibre technology partner to support our resellers in the design, installation, maintenance and support of such technologies. Videonations is a perfect partner.”

Accountants CLB Coopers and the Manchester office of law firm Hill Dickinson advised the vendors.
