Norwegian to fly from JLA

BUDGET airline Norwegian is to start a service from Liverpool John Lennon Airport in the spring.

It will fly three times a week to Copenhagen, starting on April 5. One way fares will start at £33.
 
Norwegian, listed on the the Oslo Stock Exchange, operates services across Europe into North Africa and the Middle East. In May 2013 it will startlong-haul flights from Scandinavia to the US and Asia.
 
Craig Richmond, the airport’s chief executive, said: “This is tremendous news for the airport and the region. Norwegian are one of the up and coming low cost airlines in Europe and this is a very positive statement of the progress we are now making to develop the portfolio of airlines and destinations here at Liverpool.”

Norwegian’s communications manager Åsa Larsson said: “We are very excited about adding Liverpool to our growing route network from Copenhagen. We will be the only operator between the two cities and are looking forward to flying both Danish and English customers inexpensively and comfortable in our brand new aircraft with free WiFi.”
