Kenyon Fraser picks up Grand National brief

LIVERPOOL public relations firm Kenyon Fraser has been hired to promote this year’s Grand National.

It held the consumer PR brief in 2011 but lost out to Manchester-based MC2 last year.

This year it has been signed up to provide full marketing support, which includes consumer PR, the design of brochures and adverts and interim strategic marketing support while Aintree-owner Jockey Club Racecourses appoints a regional head of marketing.

Managing Director, Richard Kenyon, said: “It goes without saying that our team are excited to be extending our work with Aintree and to be providing this support for the National. While all of the events we work with are completely different, there are some trends and insights we have found from our other work in attracting new audiences for other events that I’m sure will help in our work with the National.”

John Baker, North West regional director for Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “The team at Aintree has worked successfully with Kenyon Fraser over the last few years and we feel we have put together a strong integrated campaign for this year which will work well across print, online and broadcast for the 2013 Festival.”

This year’s Grand National takes place between April 4-6.
