State of the Region report – set for launch

THE results of TheBusinessDesk.com’s annual State of the Region report will be published on Tuesday, amid hopes 2013 will see an improvement in business optimism.
Hundreds of North West business leaders took the survey in December and the results will give a clear insight into both the region’s prospects for growth, job creation and prosperity, as well as the issues firms are facing such as access to finance and price inflation.
The survey, sponsored by law firm DLA Piper, Yorkshire Bank and CBI, also asks whether regional, national or international growth is most important to respondents this year, and also gauges their opinion of enterprise zones and also local enterprise partnerships – two key coalition policies for growth.
The publication of the North West State of the Region report will co-incide with a panel discussion on the results on Tuesday morning.
The discussion features Liverpool LEP chairman Robert Hough, Steve Mogford, chief executive of Warrington-based FTSE 100 company United Utilities, the recently-elected chair of the North West Business Leadership Team. Siemens’ executive Juergen Maier, and CBI North West’s director Damian Waters.
