Premier to hit market targets with ‘solid’ sales

PREMIER Foods had a “solid” fourth quarter and expects its full-year figures to be in line with market expectations.

In a brief trading update the listed business said the performance had continued the momentum earlier in the year behind its “power brands” – Ambrosia, Batchelors, Bisto, Hovis, Loyd Grossman, Mr Kipling, Oxo and Sharwood’s.

Premier has a 200-strong finance and human resources base in Spring Gardens, Manchester, and a number of factories and bakeries around the region.

Chief executive Michael Clarke said: “While the market continues to be challenging, I’m encouraged by the progress we have made in 2012. This provides a solid platform to continue our growth momentum in 2013.”

Full-year figures will be issued on February 21.
