GLEN Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA), has appointed Liverpool-based creative agency Uniform on a retained basis to handle its Stoves, Belling, Lec, and New World brands.

The agency will start by designing a fresh brand for Belling, which celebrated its centenary last year.

Uniform will also look at online and offline communications, reviewing customer engagement, including its activity with the trade.

Tim Sharp, creative director at Uniform, said: “GDHA are a great British manufacturer with some incredible brands and we’re delighted to be working with them.”

Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, which has a significant base in Prescot, is a division of the international electrical goods group, Glen Dimplex, which includes Morphy Richards and Roberts Radio.

The Irish group has sales of £1.2bn with offices in North America, Europe, Australia and China.

A NORTH East marketing and PR agency has celebrated its third birthday by opening an office in Manchester.

Horizonworks has chosen Manchester Science Park as the location for its new office, the first outside its home region. The agency works across a range of sectors but has a particular strength in the science, healthcare, technology and the professional service sectors.

Horizonworks is based in Newcastle and since being set up in January 2010 has increased its team to 10 and doubled its turnover year-on-year.

MANCHESTER-based Tangerine PR has been appointed by specialist beverage bottler Cobevco to develop and implement an international communications strategy for the Cheshire company.

Elton-based Cobevco can bottling and pack more than five million litres of wine, beer, cider, spirits and soft drinks each week.

Having already worked with the specialist filler to develop its corporate identity and branding, Tangerine’s B2B team  is now tasked with building awareness of the new Cobevco brand and its capabilities, especially in the key growth markets of Australia and Chile.

ZEUS PR, which has offices in Manchester and Cheshire, has been appointed by Icelolly Marketing Group, owner of the holiday price comparison website Icelolly.com, to support the launch of its two new specialist brands, ClubHen.com and ClubStag.com.

The appointment comes nearly three years after Zeus PR was handed the brief to raise the national media profile of icelolly.com.

The Bradford company’s new brands, ClubHen.com and ClubStag.com offer personalised overseas packages.

CHORLEY PR firm Wyldfire has been appointed by Sheffield-based Fairport Construction Equipment, a manufacturer of light plant and machinery.

Wyldfire already handles PR, marketing and digital services for Fairport’s sister company, Fairport Containers.

Fairpoint Construction Equipment’s managing director Ken Waller said: “Wyldfire came recommended to us by Fairport Containers and we were impressed with the company’s ideas and proactive approach.

“We will have a lot of important company news to share in the coming months and want to communicate that with as wide an audience as possible.”
