Unilever sponsors Port Sunlight museum
UNILEVER brand PG Tips has signed up as a sponsor of the Port Sunlight museum on the Wirral.
The model village was built by Lever Brothers for workers at its soap factory. The business became Unilver following a 1930s merger.
Unilever has agreed to sponsor the museum’s tea rooms and a winter food festival.
The museum is due to reopen this weekend after a major refurb funded by the Port Sunlight Village Trust and the Biffa Award, which awards grants to community and environmental projects across the UK.
Museum chief executive Lionel Bolland said: “We’re in a period of real change and growth. The museum makeover includes the creation of a special exhibitions gallery, improvements to the permanent exhibitions, gift shop and new visitor signage.
“Coupled with this is the exciting news of our sponsorship deal with Unilever PG Tips.”
