DRL’s logistics arm expands into Yorkshire

NORTH West home delivery business Expert Logistics is creating 70 jobs with the launch of a depot in West Yorkshire.
The 1.3 acre site in Garforth, Leeds, has been acquired on a long term lease and will enable the company – the delivery arm of Bolton-based retailer DRL, which trades as appliancesonline, to deliver white goods to regional customers seven days a week.
New roles will range from home delivery drivers to supervisors and admin support staff.
Dave Ashwell, managing director of Expert Logistics, said: “This move to Garforth, Leeds, enables us to grow our business, improve our service levels and client proposition and most importantly improve our efficiency.
“We are investing a lot of money, time and effort to ensure the environment is the best it can possibly be for our people.”
Expert Logistics has been established for around 30 years and opened a 360,000 sq ft headquarters in Crewe last year.
Jonathon White from Sanderson Weatherall, who acted for landlord Procter Brothers on the deal, said: “The location of the new site on Isabella Road, Garforth provides quick and easy access to the M1 and A1 which is critical to Expert who deliver to the whole of Yorkshire and the North East of England.”
