Communicate Better snaps up IT firm

SWINTON communications firm Communicate Better has acquired Leyland IT firm SCT Systems.

It described the deal as a “complimentary fit of services and technology” that would help it grow.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Communicate Better, which was set up in 1993, sells landline and mobile services to business, as well as IT hosting and vehicle tracking.

Communicate Better’s chief executive Wayne Cartwright said: “The acquisition consolidates our position as a leading provider of converged solutions across the North West, it provides the opportunity to enhance our IT support services and provide a wider range of fixed line and mobile services to the SCT Systems customer base, many of whom we already work with in a telecommunications capacity.”

Gillian Jackson of SCT Systems said: “It was the right time for the company to consider becoming part of a larger organisation, which can help us deliver a wider mix of products to our customers and enhanced customer service levels. Communicate Better provided the right mix, combining a strong brand with an environment where our staff can thrive and deliver ongoing satisfaction to our customers.”

All SCT staff will be staying with the company and will be relocating to the Communicate Better head office in Swinton. Communicate Better was advised by Keith Kennedy of Berg Legal and Ian Johnson of Cowgill Holloway.
