French group comes calling for HEROtsc

A FAST-growing call centre operator employing 1,120 people in Warrington has changed hands in a multi-million pound deal.

HEROtsc, which took on the former Vodafone site at Birchwood Park in 2010, has been bought by Paris-based international customer relationship management group Webhelp.

Webhelp Group, which is backed by private equity firm Charterhouse Capital Partners, operates 24 contact centres in continental Europe and North Africa and has annual revenues of €220m.

The acquisition of HEROtsc, which is changing its name to Webhelp TSC, gives the Webhelp Group a major presence in the UK for the first time and the capability to provide English-language services to its clients.

The combined group will be one of the largest independently-owned customer experience organisations in the world, with revenues in excess of €350m , 33 centres serving 25 clients and 16,500 employees globally.

Over the last five years, Scotland-based India-backed group HEROtsc has doubled its UK revenues to £82m and grown staff numbers from 2,000 to 6,000.

As well as Warrington, the company’s other UK sites are in Dearne Valley, Derby, Dunoon, Falkirk, Glasgow, Greenock, Kilmarnock and Rothesay.

Frédéric Jousset, founder and co-chairman of Webhelp Group, said: “HEROtsc is an excellent business with a strong track record of delivering first-class customer experience on behalf of UK and international clients.

“We are very excited about joining forces with the company, its management team and employees, to expand Webhelp’s global footprint and support the company in the UK market with the resources available from our group organisation and investors.”
