Appointments: Bibby Line Group; Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance & more

LIVERPOOL-based shopping to shipping conglomerate Bibby Line Group  has appointed former Virgin Group executive Gaurav Batra as strategy director.  

He joins the privately-owned, £1.3bn turnover  group from Virgin Management where he was corporate development and strategy director. He has also worked at Misysc, European Digital Capital and Rothschild.

Mr Batra said: “Bibby Line Group is a dynamic business with tremendous growth opportunities in multiple markets around the world. This is an exciting time and I’m looking forward to contributing to its continued success.”

CASHFLOW finance provider, Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance has appointed Martine Catton as head of strategic new business for the North.

The new role has been created to drive the lender’s new Inspired Cashflow offer, specifically managing the £200m cashflow fund which is available for businesses in the North West.

She joins Hitachi Capital from Aldermore, where for the past five years she was regional sales director. She has 20 years’ experience in the financial sector and had previously worked for Barclays.

Commenting on her new role Martine Catton, said: “Hitachi has a market leading product offer and reputable brand image. The new award winning Inspired Cashflow facility will appeal to many North West businesses as a simple, no hidden cost, funding package, opening up access to a much needed cash injection.

“I can see huge potential in taking the Inspired Cashflow solution to a wider market including introducing the offer to Accountants who are instrumental in dealing with the funding needs of UK businesses.”

WILTSHIRE-based IT recruitment business Outsource UK,  has appointed Stuart Rutter as head of its branch office in Manchester.

In his new role Mr Rutter will also lead the firm’s engineering sector business nationally.

He said: “It’s great to be joining Outsource and to have this opportunity to lead the company’s growth in the engineering, defence, aerospace and marine sectors.”

GRADUATE Adam Harper, has joined Sale-based technology company Virtalis, which provides virtual reality systems to customers around the world.

Mr Harper, who has a degree in architectural design technology, will support the firm’s sales team.

Sales director Steve Carpenter, said: “Adam will be the eyes and ears of our busy sales team and will be helping to plan campaigns, administer warranty and maintenance renewals and generally look after our customers.”
