MediaMix: Apadmi, Betfred, and more

MANCHESTER developr Apadmi has developed a mobile app for the British Museum’s exhibition about the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
It uses interactive maps of the region and a timeline of the eruption and allows users to explore the objects and themes of the exhibition.
The app will features exclusive video footage including interviews with the curator and contributions from special guests. It is available on the Apple and Android app stores.
Apadmi chief executive Garry Partington said: “We have been developing award winning apps for a number of years for major brands such as BT, Aviva, Visit Britain and the incredibly popular BBC iPlayer Radio app.
“However, to have been commissioned by one of the world’s great cultural institutions, The British Museum, to develop such an innovative, content-rich and interactive app, is a genuine honour.”

BETFRED has launched its sportsbook as a mobile application.
It was developed over 18 months by a 25-strong mobile team based at The Sharp Project in east Manchester.
The sportsbook features all the events that Betfred is offering odds on.
Head of Mobile Development Andrew Daniels said: “It’s an exciting time for all of us, but most importantly our customers will see a real difference.
“Having our own platform will enable us to develop new products in-house and have the best mobile product in the market. We will
be no longer reliant on a third party, meaning we can drive the product and give customers what they want.”

CHORLEY-based public relations firm The Write Angle, has been shortlisted at The Prolific North Awards 2013 in the small public relations agency category.
Managing director Angela Smith said: “We are really proud to have been shortlisted for this award. 2012 was a great year for the agency, and a number of new account wins have been a launchpad to recruit additional team members and expand our portfolio into new sectors.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club on May 16.
