Linder Myers takes former Cobbetts corporate pair

FORMER Cobbetts corporate partners Paul Johnson and Sean Fitzgerald, who were made redundant after the pre-pack acquisition of their former firm by DWF, have found a new home at Linder Myers.

Bernard Seymour, Linder Myers’ managing partner, hailed the “high calibre” appointments and said a strengthened commercial department is at the heart of its national growth strategy.

Mr Johnson, previously head of Cobbetts Manchester office before its demise, and currently chairman of pro-manchester, said: “Having pursued discussions with a number of firms, Linder Myers proved an attractive prospect for both Sean and me.

“As a firm with national growth aspirations and real commitment to having clients at the heart of its business, Linder Myers’ ethos very much matches our own.

“We look forward to being part of one of the most exciting businesses in Manchester at the moment and for our clients it will be business as usual.”

Bernard Seymour, managing partner at Linder Myers in Manchester said: “The arrival of Paul and Sean strengthens both the breadth and depth of our existing corporate practice.

“The firm’s commercial offer is very much at the heart of the strategy to grow Linder Myers into a truly national firm as we focus on meeting the needs of corporate clients including SMEs, entrepreneurs, family and owner managed businesses.”

After a series of acquisitions, including pre-pack deals for Rowlands Field Cunningham (2011) and Shammah Nicholls last year, Linder Myers has 300 employees including 50 partners across its offices in Manchester, Shropshire, Lancashire and Cheshire.
