BOLTON housing association Regenda has spent £7m acquiring 170 properties in Cheshire from Guinnes Northern Counties.

BOLTON housing association Regenda has spent £7m acquiring 170 properties in Cheshire from Guinness Northern Counties.

The homes in Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach, Wilmslow and Macclesfield are mostly rented but also includes some shared ownership and supported living properties.

A member of staff has joined Regenda from Guinness Northern Counties as an estate manager.

Regenda said the acquisition supported its plans to provide 1,000 more homes for families and individuals.

Regional director Bill Lovat said: “Regenda has a long history of providing quality homes and services across Cheshire, and we are delighted to be extending a big welcome to all of our new residents there – we look forward to them getting involved with the group and its activities. The transfer represents a substantial investment in Cheshire, helping to build our presence and the range of services we are able to offer there.”

Guiness’s managing director Paul Roberts said “Sometimes other housing associations are better placed to deliver services in a particular area than we are – especially in places where we don’t have a large number of homes.”

Regenda was advised by Manchester-based Croftons Solicitors.
