HomeSense takes Arndale unit

MANCHESTER’S Arndale has wooed discount homewares and furniture retailer HomeSense and it is opening a 12,800 sq ft store at the end of May.
The new unit is next door to sister company TK Maxx, also part of TJX Europe.
Ed Sellick, director – asset management (Retail) at land lords PRUPIM, said: “As retail trade polarises, the pressure is on for retailers to identify locations that offer the best returns and, with an annual footfall of over 41 million per annum, Manchester Arndale continues to attract attention from a range of quality retailers.
“Our asset management strategy is geared towards selecting the best retailers to fill the limited space available and these deals are a good indication of the high level of retailer confidence in the centre and reflect Manchester Arndale’s dominant position at the heart of retail in Manchester.”
The opening of HomeSense is one of a host of new leasing deals, including Topshop, Burberry and Dune.
Manchester Arndale is represented by Tushingham Moore and CBRE. McMullen Wilson acted for TK Maxx and HomeSense.
