Rosebud funding fillip for Harrison Drury

SMALL but ambitious Lancashire law firm Harrison Drury has received a funding package to support its continued growth.

The firm – which has offices in Preston, Garstang and Kendal – increased turnover by 21% and profits by 43% in 2012 and has recently hired six new fee-earners.

The firm, which specialises in services for small and medium-sized companies, has received working capital finance from Lancashire County Council’s Rosebud scheme for small businesses.

Harrison Drury has 34 staff, including 21 fee earners and became one the first practices in the region to launch a fixed-fee service, HD Anytime, which it launched in 2011.

Paul Taberner, investment director at Enterprise Ventures, which manages the Rosebud Fund for the council, said: “Harrison Drury’s innovative approach, its focus on serving SMEs and providing value for money has made it one of the fastest-growing law firms in the North West.

“The Rosebud funding will support its requirements for ongoing working capital. Rosebud is playing a valuable role in helping businesses to fund growth at a time when small firms in particular are finding it hard to access finance from traditional sources.”

Cllr Jennifer Mein, leader of Lancashire County Council, said: “Rosebud is designed to help businesses grow by providing them with the finance and support they need. Harrison Drury is part of the financial sector, which we’ve identified as one of our priorities for economic development in Lancashire.

“In particular, Rosebud wants to support companies from high growth sectors such as aerospace and advanced manufacturing; creative and digital; energy and environmental technology; as well as financial and professional services.”
