Media Mix: Co-op debuts legal services ad; Tangerine; Havas; Pelican

THE Co-operative Legal Services is unveiling its first ever TV and radio advertising campaign today.
The multi-channel campaign uses child actors to promote its caring and jargon-free approach and its easy access legal provision with fixed-fees, free initial legal advice and a national telephone service.
The multi-million pound campaign will air on TV and radio stations across London, and include social media, press advertising and PR activity. The adverts have been created by advertising agency Leo Burnett.
Ian Mackie, director of marketing, The Co-operative Legal Services, said: “The launch of a major advertising campaign is part of our move to build our brand and support the expansion of our legal services.
“We are really excited about the campaign which brings to life our promises – to provide fixed fee services, free initial advice, drop the use of jargon and handle cases with sensitivity.”

THE Manchester office of Havas PR has been appointed by Yorkshire home improvements company Wren Kitchens and Bedrooms as its retained national PR agency.
The agency is tasked with raising awareness of Wren’s UK-wide network of stores across national consumer press and digital channels, providing local PR campaigns for individual store launches and corporate PR support for the business.
A four strong agency team for the account is being led by board director Nigel Hughes. The account was awarded to Havas PR UK after a six-way pitch involving PR consultancies from the across the country.
Other Havas PR UK clients include Asda, Greggs, Pets at Home, Vileda, Debenhams, Staples and Hobbycraft.

MANCHESTER PR firm Tangerine has triumphed at the national Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ Excellence Awards, driving away with the ‘Automotive Campaign of the Year’ accolade.
The agency’s work for Peugeot UK was the winning entry. Tangerine’s team covered a Peugeot RCZ in 81,000 ‘Essex diamonds’ before hosting a high profile launch featuring Cara Kilbey and Billie Mucklow from hit TV show, The Only Way Is Essex, in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last summer.
The campaign delivered 34 pieces of print and online coverage in total – including 11 national pieces and an overall reach of 263,558,193.
Judges praised Tangerine, saying: “This entry won because it was well-targeted and perfectly executed, and because it demonstrated outstanding creativity, innovation and excellent value for money.”

OLDHAM-based PR agency Pelican has been hire by frozen desserts brand Coppenrath & Wiese to support its plan to grow sales in the UK.
Pelican’s specialist food and drink PR team has been briefed to help the Germa company to raise brand and product awareness in the UK.
Uppermill-based Pelican will support Coppenrath & Wiese by raising awareness of the brand’s key messages within consumer and trade press with a combination of media relations, research projects and digital activities.
