EgyptAir starts Cairo flights from Manchester

EGYPTAIR has commenced flights between Manchester and the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The Egyptian flag carrier airline commenced its five times a week direct flight between Manchester Airport and EgyptAir’s main hub at Cairo International Airport, earlier this month.

Capt. Roshdy Zakaria, EgyptAir’s chairman and chief executive, said: “The UK is one of the most important markets in our network and the addition of this new service establishes EgyptAir as the only carrier to operate direct between Manchester and Cairo.”

He added: “Cairo is the northern gateway to Africa and our customers in the UK and beyond have convenient access to more than 18 African destinations, in addition to code-share flights to six further destinations, such as Lusaka, Mauritius, Cape Town and Kigali. EgyptAir also operates daily connections to the main business and leisure destinations across the Middle East.”

Operated by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the service will run Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week.
