MediaMix: MC2 wins Spinningfields brief, and more

MANCHESTER public relations agency MC2 has been hired by developer Allied London to handle the corporate PR for the Spinningfields scheme in Manchester and New Dock in Leeds.

It has won the brief following a competitive pitch. Manchester-based Echo PR will continue to work on the consumer side for Spinningfields.

Joe Dixon, associate director and head of the property team at MC2, said: “There are few companies that are able to redefine a city. Over the last decade, Allied London has done this in cities across the UK. We now have the chance to help it develop and deliver its vision for the next 10 years. We’re incredibly proud to be given the opportunity to do this.”

Michael Ingall, Allied London’s chief executive, said: “MC2 displayed an acute understanding of both our business and our vision. The team had a key unique selling point in that they demonstrated the ability to communicate clear brand messaging and will be offering us support more akin to corporate advisers. Most of our real estate developments are, in effect, the creation of businesses and MC2 understands how to provide PR support to help create, evolve and support businesses.”

MACCLESFIELD’S integrated agency Vibe has worked with IT consultant Axon to refresh and rejuvenate its brand.

Axon, also based in the town, approached Vibe with a brief to create a bold, new look, which would re-engage with its clients and employees.

Isaac Allison, senior designer at Vibe said: “Working from Axon’s brief we wanted to create a simple yet effective brand that cuts through the jargon that can be associated with information technology. During the creative phase we developed the axon neuron concept and the strapline ‘we make IT happen’ to reinforce Axon’s position as enablers.”

Tim Mears, managing director at Axon said: “We are really excited about our new look. Vibe was able to get to the core of what our business is about and accurately represent this in the brand redesign.”
