Barnfield Construction invests in new kit

LANCASHIRE-based construction contractor and developer, Barnfield Construction has invested around £750,000 in new equipment on the back of new contract wins.

The Nelson-based company has taken delivery of 13 new Komatsu tracked excavator machines.

Barnfield Construction’s transport and plant manager, Dave Leyland said: ““We have been pleased with the customer service that we have received from the Komatsu team over the past eight years.

“The machines we have had working for us over this period have offered trouble free running with no major breakdowns. Due to a rise in contracts this year we have increased our fleet number from 11 to 13 machines.

The capital purchase was funded by Swedish bank Handelsbanken and is their first lease transaction with Barnfield.

Jason Bateman, corporate manager at the Burnley branch said: “It is always a pleasure to invest in the local community in support of a valued client, sharing our traditional values and desire to build close, long term relationships.”

Tim Dilworth, area sales manager for Marubeni-Komatsu, said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with Barnfield Construction with this new deal for 13 machines.”
