MediaMix: CIM, Vibe, Write Angle, Fourth Day

THE Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in Manchester has appointed Sean Randles, as its new chair.
Randles, who takes over from Han-Son Lee, has been a member of CIM for 20 years and is a fully qualified chartered marketer. He is currently owner and director of webVM Ltd a specialist video direct marketing company based at Media City UK, Salford Quays.
He said: “I am looking forward to developing some quality events for our members across Manchester with the CIM team, and making the most of the many opportunities being presented by the changing digital marketing landscape.”
He will formally take the chair at a CIM Manchester event on October 9.

MACCLESFIELD-based integrated agency, Vibe, has teamed up with East Cheshire Hospice to deliver its community campaign, 25 for 25.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of East Cheshire Hospice, the campaign includes 25 different activities for locals to take part in to promote the charity’s profile in the local community, while boosting fundraising.
Activities range from hosting a bake sale to organising charity car washes.
Vibe was appointed by East Cheshire Hospice to create material for the campaign which involved developing printed applications, and creating a standalone microsite linking to Facebook.
Dan Mellor, designer at Vibe, said: “We wanted to create a vibrant campaign that focuses on getting the local community to engage with the hospice’s fundraising activities, while allowing volunteers to be creative and share their success stories.”

Commercial law firm Watson Burton has appointed Manchester-based Fourth Day to handle its PR activity.
The firm is headquartered in Newcastle and also has offices in Leeds and London.
Fourth Day has been tasked with promoting its services across the UK, focusing on the firm’s expertise in the property and construction sectors as well as its education, employment, and commercial litigation.
The account will be managed by agency co-founder Nikki Scrivener. She said: “We are thrilled to be working with Watson Burton. The firm has some exceptional spokespeople with a real depth of sector expertise – it’s now our job to make sure more people know about them. CHORLEY-based public relations and marketing agency, The Write Angle, has been appointed by the North West Society of Chartered Accountants (NWSCA) to promote its upcoming business awards.
The 2013 Accountancy and Business Awards Dinner, which take places on November 28 at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool, will celebrate the achievements of the, chartered accountants, businesses and professional advisers of Lancashire and South Lakeland.
The NWSCA provides qualifications and professional development, shares industry knowledge, insight and technical expertise, and protects the quality and integrity of the accountancy and finance profession.
