DIGITAL sector big-hitter Chris Marsh has joined data centre operator UKFAST from rival hosting firm Melbourne.

He joins the ambitious business as director of partner development where he is tasked with developing relationships with creative agencies and supporting like-minded companies with their growth strategies.

Mr Marsh appears to be well-positioned for the role as he is an elected council member of Manchester Digital and member of several other Manchester creative organisations.

UKFast chief executive Lawrence Jones said: “From the outside, people have no idea that we are a creative business and that we understand what this entails, Chris Marsh is someone who can help us bridge that gap.

“Manchester is a very special city full of designers, developers and a thriving digital community and we want to help these agencies get to the next level – both online and in the way that they run their businesses so that they can compete with the big London agencies. We see Chris as someone who can help encourage their voice. It is a pioneering role really, not one that we have had before and it is quite a bold appointment.”
