MANCHESTER commercial property business OBI Property has made a senior hire in its  offices team.

After 10 years with GVA in the city Richard Lace is joining the offices team as an associate director, where he will working alongside director Will Lewis and Emma Powell.

Mr Lace said: “Since establishing OBI in 2010 the business has grown from strength to strength picking up a significant number of high profile disposal and acquisition instructions, and establishing itself as one of the leading commercial advisors in the North West property market.

“To be given the chance to be part of the team was too good an opportunity to pass up and I am relishing the challenges that lie ahead in my new role.”

Will Lewis added: “Richard was one of the first people I ever met in property when I started my career and I know he has all the inter-personal skills and professional ability to have a great career at OBI.  Although the market is challenging, there remains plenty of activity and we can’t wait for Richard to get involved in some of our exciting projects.”

SANTANDER Corporate & Commercial has appointed Afsar Hussain as a new relationship director for south Manchester.

Based at the bank’s corporate business centre in Manchester, Mr Hussain, who has been recruited from Lloyds, will  specialise in advising businesses with an annual turnover of £250,000 to £2.5m and will be responsible for building new customer relationships as the bank looks to expand.

LANCASHIRE telecoms provider Abbey Telecom has expanded its sales support team with the appointment of former employee Tracy Hampson as business development manager.

Ms Hampson, 50, left the Blackburn company six years ago will focus on sales development opportunities and field based training for new clients.

Abbey Telecom managing director Tony Raynor added:  “The whole team here is delighted about Tracy’s return to support our sales department.

“We’ve been looking to recruit for some weeks now and Tracy was the perfect fit.  She has an encyclopaedic product knowledge, coupled with an empathy for clients’ business requirements.  She also knows our team well.

THE Manchester Pet Show, which stages its inaugural event next month, has made a number of senior hires.

Paul Curran takes up the role of event director and will oversee the show marketing strategy and event growth, while Phillip Latala has joined as finance director and has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, working with clients in media, advertising, retail and energy businesses. The Manchester Pet Show takes place at EventCity on September 7 and 8.

PRESTON’S Jigsaw Training has added four new tutors to its team.

The consultancy, which operates across the UK, has appointed three new external tutors who will deliver training programmes to clients including MITIE, Rolls Royce and the Ministry of Defence. It has also enlisted an experienced internal trainer who will provide support to the company’s nationwide network of tutors.

Karen Nuttall, whose role as internal trainer will see her ‘coaching the coaches’, is originally from Lancashire, however she spent a large part of her working career in Qatar.

Karen will be joined at Jigsaw Training by tutors Angela Andrew, Paul Sarson and Graham Hambleton, who will work on training projects with a variety of Jigsaw’s national clients.

James Blackhurst, managing director of Jigsaw Training, said: “These appointments will help us drive Jigsaw Training forward, and enable us to better serve our customers across the UK.”
