LAWYERS at Kuits in Manchester have advised former Manchester United captain Gary Neville on a new deal with video games developer EA Sports.

He has signed an agreement to join the EA Sports FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) in an ambassadorial role for the 2013/14 season.

It will see Neville contribute a bi-weekly column on the EA Sports website and he will feature as a player on the FIFA 14 computer game alongside other legendary ex-players including Pele, Bobby Moore, Marco Van Basten and Eric Cantona.

Kuits partner Rob Buckley and associate James Wall advised Mr Neville in relation to image rights and the ambassadorial agreement with EA Sports. The team worked closely with his representative Rhodri Burgess at Wasserman Media Group.

The creative industries team at Ward Hadaway has been appointed as official legal advisor to Generator UK in respect of its Music Futures programme following a competitive tender.

Based in Newcastle, Generator advises and assists bands, performers and music industry professionals across the country.

LAW firm Brabners has advised Shellproof plc on the acquisition of the Gusbourne Estate English sparkling wine business for £7m.

The deal is funded by a £2.85m placing, £2m of Barclays Bank debt and existing cash reserves and constitutes a reverse takeover of Shellproof. Based in Kent, the Gusbourne Estate produces English sparkling wines.

Brabners corporate partner David Bowcock said: “Having advised Shellproof on its flotation in October 2012, we’re delighted to have helped the company on the next big step towards achieving its targets. The Gusbourne Estate is a high-profile, successful business in the sector and will hopefully help Shellproof go from strength to strength.”

The legal team at Brabners also included Partner Charlotte Round, Consultant Rupert Jackson and Associate Mark Morrell.
