Appointments: TGE; Cube3; MC2; M247; Irwin Mitchell & more

CHESHIRE businessman Rupert Higgin, managing director of TGE Group has joined  the 2013 UK Solar Finance & Bankability Group, part of the UK Solar Strategy Group set up by the Department of Energy & Climate Change .

The aims of the  group is to improve understanding of the solar sector among financiers and investors; improve access to financing for developers, installers and consumers while reducing the cost of solar development and installation.

Mr Higgin has led Nantwich-based TGE Group since 2010 and the renewable energy company now employs more than 70 people.

He said: “It is a great honour to be invited to join such an important solar strategy group,” comments Rupert.  “I am looking forward to helping drive solar PV forward so it continues to be a strong, vibrant and viable industry in the UK.”

MANCHESTER marketing agency MC2 has appointed two former executives from advertsing agency CheethamBellJWT to its integrated creative team.

Lindsay Gregory as client services director and Mags Houston as creative account manager.
 
During 11 years at JWT and then the merged CheethamBellJWT in Manchester, Miss Gregory held various senior positions and led accounts including Alton Towers, Casio and John West.
 
At CheethamBellJWT Mags Houston worked on accounts including Dr Oetker, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank and Nobia Kitchen Specialists.

MC2 managing director Claire Tennant said: “Lindsay and Mags bring vast experience and entrepreneurialism to our integrated creative team. They will work closely with all our creative clients to ensure the experience they receive from MC2 consistently surpasses expectations.”

DIGITAL agency Cube3 has announced a senior management shake-up with founder Karl Barker becoming chief executive and stepping away from the day-to-day running of the agency.

Taking his place as MD at the Princess Street agency Phil Ogden, who has been a director of the company since 2008.

Mr Ogden said: “Reviewing and adjusting the roles at the top of the agency allows us to focus on where we want to get to in the next five and 10 years. It feels like a very exciting time for Cube3 and we are confident that this new structure leaves us in a strong position to grow and influence the digital offering of the North West.”

THE Manchester office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has boosted its insolvency and corporate restructuring team with the appointment of associate solicitor Rebecca O’Callaghan.
 
Miss O’Callaghan joins from DLA Piper, where she worked for five years. She will be reunited with insolvency partner John Vickery at Irwin Mitchell after he joined the firm in July.

She said:  “Irwin Mitchell is a progressive law firm and I’m excited to be joining the business as it continues to expand its commercial team. The insolvency team already has a strong reputation in the North West and I am looking forward to helping develop this further.”

SAS Daniels, the Cheshire law firm, has hired David Moore as a consultant in its family team.

Mr Moore,  a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience, joins from Hacking Ashton and will be based in the firm’s Congleton office. He has lived in the Cheshire town since 1978 and has previously served as a deputy district judge.

Shelley Hesford, head of family law at SAS Daniels, said: “David complements our existing skills in exactly the way we need to be able to handle the increasing number of family law related cases we deal with.”

MANCHESTER-based IT infrastructure firm M247 has made a key hire with Clive Stone joining the business as sales manager for wholesale network sales.

In his new role at M247, Mr Stone, who has relocated from Berkshire, will recruit a wholesale network sales team.

Managing director David Buckle said, “With many jobs in our industry heading to the south of the UK, it makes a refreshing change to attract somebody of Clive’s calibre to Manchester which, because of what companies like ours have been doing, is growing into a sizable Internet hub outside of London.”
