Property briefs: Morgan Sindall; Lingley Mere

CONSTRUCTION group Morgan Sindall has won a £15m contract to construct the new St Hilda’s CE High School in Sefton Park, Liverpool.

Work is due to start early next year on the scheme which is being funded and supported by the Liverpool School Investment Programme, created by Mayor Joe Anderson.

Barry Roberts, area director for Morgan Sindall, said: “Increased pressure on local schools to provide high-quality education facilities for a growing population is a key issue in Merseyside and one we’re pleased to be playing a part in tackling.

“Morgan Sindall has great depth of experience in education construction and we’re well versed in delivering projects across the country on time and on budget. We’re looking forward to working with Liverpool City Council to deliver these education facilities for people in the local area.”

Mayor Joe Anderson said: “Giving our children a fantastic education in first class surroundings is a major priority and this will make a huge difference to the learning experience of present and future generations of pupils.”

Morgan Sindall is working on a number of projects in Liverpool and has recently won a £19m contract with Maro Developments to construct the new Matalan headquarters at the Galaxy site in Knowsley Industrial Park, off Acornfield Road. It is also working on a £7m project to expand Liverpool Science Park (LSP).
