JMW secures £2.5m in Barclays move

MANCHESTER’S JMW Solicitors has switched its banking facility from Royal Bank of Scotland to Barclays and secured a £2.5m package to support future growth.

JMW, which has 39 partners and 215 staff, has seen turnover rise from £10m to £15m over the past three years.

The facility was finalised by relationship director Steve Lewis who moved from RBS to Barclays in March.

He was taken on to help increase Barclays’ client list in the sector and has already signed up another former RBS client, SAS Daniels.

JMW’s managing partner Bill Jones said: “The appointment of Barclays as our new bankers is a culmination of the relationships that have developed between individuals at Barclays and JMW. Barclays share our massive enthusiasm for our business and are very supportive of our future plans.”

Mr Lewis said: “This is a great example of how Barclays are bringing together the various parts of the business to support our client’s interests and our strong appetite to provide funding to quality businesses in the region. My recent appointment sent a strong message to the market on the importance Barclays places on the sector and this has been rewarded by two recent client wins in JMW and SAS Daniels.”
