Appointments: RICS; Intuitive; Weightmans & more

JANE Lathwood, an associate in GVA’s Manchester planning
development and regeneration team, has been elected as chair of the
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)  North West Regional
board.
 
In her role she will lead the regional board to provide leadership and
guidance on a range of institutional objectives, including setting and
improving industry standards, influencing government policy, as well as
raising the status of the surveying profession across the region.

She said: “I hope to represent the interests of our local members effectively and hone the knowledge and expertise of our experienced board in order to be in the best possible position to capitalise on future growth opportunities for the region.”

MANCHESTER-based business intelligence  dashboard software author, Intuitive Business Intelligence, has made a hat-trick of senior appointments.

It has recruited Neil Ewin, John Holliss and Martin Cross as chairman, finance director, and professional services director respectively.

Sales director, Roger Stocker, said: ““In order to respond to the considerable demand from both end-user organisations, as well as software authors and resellers, it was essential for our management team to expand.

LIVERPOOL-headquartered national law firm Weightmans has made another hire to its commercial property team, with the addition of Deborah Rawlinson as an associate.

Formerly with Bullivant Jones and latterly Hill Dickinson, she will split her time between two of the firm’s North West offices in Manchester and Liverpool.

Miss Rawlinson said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a forward-thinking firm. Weightmans is committed to developing a strong property team which signifies a confidence in substantial future growth.

THE Manchester studio of architects and design firm BDP, has appointed
David Raynor as associate in order to strengthen its urban design team
in the north.

Mr Raynor is a former head of masterplanning at MBLA in Manchester, working on masterplans for Lower Broughton and Pendleto in Salford.

He has also worked at Faulkner Brown,  Holford Associates and Haliday Meecham and has recently taught architecture and urban design at the universities of Cardiff, Hull and Liverpool John Moores.

Commenting on his new role at BDP, Mr Raynor said: “BDP has a fantastic track record in delivering outstanding masterplans in the UK and globally and I’m looking forward to working on projects both here in the North West and much further afield.”
