Appointments: PwC; Liverpool Chamber; Flowcrete

A FORMER council chief executive and police commander Jonathan House, has joined Big 4 firm PwC to work across its Manchester and Liverpool offices.

Mr House, who quit his role with Cardiff Council in May, will support the firm’s public sector team.

The trained hostage negotiator has more than 20 years’ experience working in the public sector previously holding senior positions as deputy chief executive at Bristol City Council, and police commander for Sheffield.

Jane Forbes, partner and North West lead for public sector said: “Jonathan’s experience in local government across the UK will make a strong contribution to our team. We will be able to draw upon his knowledge of the big issues at the heart of the public sector including leadership, effective partnering, financial management, service transformation and urban development, getting on the agenda of our clients.”

LIVERPOOL Chamber of Commerce has appointed Andy Snell as head of international trade.

He joins Liverpool Vision where he was head of international and investment and led a team of representatives based in Liverpool, London, Shanghai and the US. Andy Snell, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce

He was also project manager for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in 2012, Operations Manager at the Liverpool Embassy in London, and also worked as part of the Liverpool Pavillion team at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.

He said: ““This is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to working with Chamber members and wider business community in the future.”

CHESHIRE flooring manufacturer Flowcrete UK has taken on six new production staff.

The expansion comes after a a rise in sales activity in domestic and export markets.

Managing director of Sandbach-based Flowcrete Mark Greaves said: “The creation of six new permanent roles is a great indication that Flowcrete UK is continuing to lead the flooring market, both at home and abroad.

“We are building on significant investment in facilities at our Sandbach site and these new jobs reflect our confidence in the economy.”

WILMSLOW wealth manager Equilibrium Asset Management has hired three new staff as it continues to grow.

It has taken on David McKendrick as a chartered financial planner, Niamh Costigan as trainee client manager and Peter Chiodo as marketing assistant.
