Altrincham architects to merge

ALTRINCHAM architect CalderpeelFGP is to merge with smaller local firm Edge.

Edge, which is also based in the Trafford town, specialises in the leisure and education sectors.

Justin O’Brien, director of Edge said, “Edge has been in talks with CalderpeelFGP for a number of months resulting in our joint decision to merge the two businesses.

“The combined entity brings a new dimension to our portfolios and together we feel we can far more effectively exploit opportunities across a broader range of sectors in the market.”

CalderpeelFGP chairman Harry Calder added:  “We have known Edge for a number of years now and the merger brings strength to Edge’s client base and opens CalderpeelFGP to new opportunities in both the leisure and education sectors.”

Edge was established in 2008 and is run by Mr O’Brien and colleague Richard Whiting who will join CalderpeelFGP as directors. Both directors and a third staff member have relocated to CalderpeelFGP’s offices in the town.

The enlarged business will continue to trade as CalderpeelFGP.
