Air Canada to launch Manchester-Toronto route

AIR Canada’s leisure brand rouge, is to launch direct non-stop flights between Manchester and Toronto from June 2014.
The new service, which will operate every day except Sunday and Thursday, will begin on June 27 and cease on September 13.
Robert Atkinson, Air Canada’s general manager – sales UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, said: “We are delighted to launch an Air Canada rouge service from Manchester to Toronto, offering holiday travellers affordable fares and great service.
“As well as benefiting from direct access to our Toronto hub, customers in Northern England will now be able to take advantage of convenient onward connections to destinations across North America, the Carribean and Latin America.”
The Manchester-Toronto service will be operated with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, featuring a two-cabin configuration with three seating options including rouge, rouge Plus with preferred seating and additional legroom, and Premium rouge offering both additional space and enhanced services.
Stephen Turner, Manchester Airport’s aviation commercial director, said: “We are pleased that Air Canada has decided to add this great addition to our already extensive route network on offer from Manchester for summer 2014.
“As a major airport with a catchment area of 24 million people who live within two hours of Manchester Airport, we feel this will only strengthen our position as an airport of choice.”
