TeamSport in pole position after Speedkarting deal

GO-KARTING business TeamSport has bought Speedkarting in Warrington.

The Surrey firm, which was the subject of a £9m management buyout in March, now has 10 tracks around the country.

The Warrington track, at Bank Quay trading Estate, was owned by Speedkarting which is run by Michael and Rebecca Hollington. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The site has the largest indoor go-kart circuit in the UK, a 1,000-metre International Track with a multi-tier flyover and Monaco-style tunnel and Dunlop tyre bridges.

TeamSport’s managing director Dominic Gaynor, said: “Karting is the most driving fun you can have off the pro circuit. The TeamSport Warrington track provides the best facilities in the North West for any wannabe racing drivers out there. Many Formula 1 drivers started their careers this way – and drivers such as Michael Schumacher and Jensen Button still kart regularly.”
