TLT Solicitors set to add Irwin Mitchell’s Lord to Manchester team

LITIGATION partner John Lord, who was the first commercial partner to join Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office in 2009, is set to switch to TLT Solicitors.
Mr Lord, who led Irwin Mitchell’s corporate and commercial recruitment drive, joined the firm from Halliwells and counts major corporates InBev and EON among his clients.
TheBusinessDesk.com understands he will be the fourth partner at ambitious Bristol-headquartered TLT’s Manchester office. Several other IM staff are likely to move over too.
In June TLT added DLA Piper’s highly-regarded intellectual property litigator Graeme Orchison to its fledgling Manchester team, based at 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields.
TLT expanded into the region in June with the recruitment of Stuart Campbell, previously a commercial partner at DLA and Pinsent Mason’s Emma Flower, a commercial dispute resolution specialist.
At the time of launch the firm said it expects the office will comprise 20-30 people and generate income of £3m-£5m within its first 18 months.
TLT launched offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast last year, and has an office in London as well as Bristol.
Neither Irwin Mitchell nor TLT were prepared to comment.
