Low-cost air fares firm grounded by Insolvency Service

A TRAVEL business offering cheap flights to the public via telephone and the internet has been grounded by the Insolvency Service.

City Link Travel Services Ltd, a Manchester-based company, was put into provisional liquidation on public interest grounds after failing to deliver
tickets to customers had paid offered flights.

The firm’s registered office is an address at 1 Chalcombe Grange, Longsight. Its sole director is 49-year-old Shahid Hamid.

The Official Receiver was appointed as provisional liquidator at a hearing
on Tuesday at the High Court in Manchester and followed an investigation by the Insolvency Service.

The case will next be heard in the High Court on January 3 2014.
