Appointments: DTZ adds two; JMW; Freshfield & more

PROPERTY adviser DTZ has made two new appointments to its office agency team in Manchester.

Rob Prescott has been appointed from Colliers International as surveyor and Matthew Wackett has joined as a graduate surveyor.

Mr Prescott spent two years at Colliers and will help the office agency team on disposals and acquisitions for clients including Bruntwood, Urban Splash and CDP.

DTZ office agency team now has five members and is led by senior director Ken Bishop.

NICK Young has been appointed as a solicitor in the medical negligence team at Manchester law firm JMW.

Mr Young recently qualified and had been working as a paralegal in the team for the last two years. Before joining JMW Nick trained as a barrister and worked as a county court advocate, assisting people with small claims and debt matters.

His appointment follows the recent hiring of solicitor Ciaran Harper from Bolton firm Asons and paralegal Francesca Powell.

Eddie Jones, partner and head of the medical negligence team,said: “Nick has developed great expertise in the medical negligence field during his time with us and his passion for patient safety and client care stand him in good stead for his new role.”

JONATHAN Murphy has been selected to be the first entrant on Cheshire wealth manager Xentum’s graduate training scheme.

Mr Murphy, 24,  has a first class degree in economics and business from Liverpool John Moore’s University, was picked ahead of more than 50 graduates for the position and will train towards an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

Dominic Baldwin, MD of Lymm-based Xentum said: “The appointment and development of graduate level recruits will be a priority for us over the next few years so we can build a professional and dedicated team to look after our growing client base.”

SOUTHPORT based medical negligence and serious injury law firm Fletchers Solicitors, has boosted its team with the appointment of a senior clinical negligence lawyer.
 
Sue Taylor, who has joined from Manchester firm JMW, has a supervisory role in Fletchers’ 20-strong specialist medical negligence team.

PRESTON marketing and PR consultancy Freshfield has added two executives to its team.

Laura Cullen joins Freshfield as PR executive from Altius Group, a business sale specialist and Amy Etherington strengthens the marketing team after being previously working at conference and events venue Manchester Central.
