Players on the market as owner fails

A BUYER is being sought for Hale Barns celebrity haunt Players Restaurant after its parent company fell into administration.

Manchester-based administrators at CG & Co have been appointed to Boma (UK) which is owned by Elizabeth Burne.

The restaurant, which was set up 10 years ago, is based at the Manchester Airport Marriott hotel and has a reputation for attracting the region’s sporting stars. Champion cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins was a recent visitor according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Joint administrator Jonathan Avery-Gee told TheBusinessDesk.com: “It has basically suffered a downturn in trade – economic factors have caused it.

“We’ve appointed agents and they’re now actively marketing the business. We’ve had some initial interest and we’re looking at various offers. We’re hopeful of finding a buyer.”

The restaurant employs around 15 staff.
