Dealmaker Ellaby switches to Ward Hadaway

CORPORATE lawyer Paul Ellaby has left EOS Law to join Ward Hadaway as a partner in Manchester.

Mr Ellaby, whose CV includes Hill Dickinson and Squire Sanders (then called Hammonds), has a number of entrepreneurial clients including fast-growing Manchester business MyParcelDelivery.com. He was with EOS for two years.

Commenting on his move to Ward Hadaway – which is steadily building a presence in Manchester to add to its Newcastle and Leeds offices, he said: “The firm has already been making its presence felt in Manchester and the North West and has exciting plans to grow its operation in Manchester.

“I am looking forward to playing my part in helping Ward Hadaway expand here.”

Martin Hulls, partner and head of corporate at Ward Hadaway, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Paul on board.

“His reputation goes before him in the North West corporate sector so it is fantastic to have attracted someone with his experience and impressive track record in the region to join us. Paul’s presence significantly strengthens our corporate finance offering in Manchester as we look to continue to grow our business here.”

Mr Ellaby will be based at the firm’s main Manchester office at The Observatory, Chapel Walks. Its creative industries team is based at the Sharp Project in east Manchester.

In recent months there have been several partner departures from EOS Law. Insolvency partner Rob Turner left in September to join Brabners and employment partner Simon Whitehead departed in April to become managing partner at HRC Law.
