ClearSky scrums down with rugby league club

SME advice specialist ClearSky Business is teaming up with Rugby League club Hull KR in its maiden sports sponsorship deal.

The partnership will see Warrington-based ClearSky become Hull KR’s principal sponsor for the 2014 Super League season, which begins in February.

ClearSky’s logo will adorn Hull KR’s home and away shirts and the company will also be given advertising space at the club’s Craven Park stadium.

The company plans to hold a series of free workshops for small businesses and start-ups at the ground’s North Stand, an £8m development that houses an Enterprise Hub Training Centre.

ClearSky – which provides fixed-fee advice to SMEs on accountancy, tax, payroll, HR and employment law matters – aims to attract its 2,000th client by mid-2014.

Its founder and chief executive Rob Crossland is vice chairman of Hull KR, and is a passionate fan of the sport.

Managing director Derek Kelly said: “The club demonstrates a level of ambition that is mirrored in our own core values. With the new North Stand being developed as a hub for business and enterprise, this agreement sits perfectly with our ethos of supporting small businesses and enabling them to get on and grow.”

Linton Brown, director of commercial affairs at Hull KR, said: “We are delighted to welcome ClearSky Business as our new principal sponsor.

“We look forward to forging a solid partnership with ClearSky that goes way beyond a simple shirt sponsorship, and helps small businesses in Hull and beyond to thrive and prosper.”
