GATELEY partner and head of the family law team, Elizabeth Hassall, has been appointed chair of the Collaborative Law Group.

The group provides support and guidance to those involved in family law and divorce cases.

She said: “Family disputes are a very complex and emotional area of law and collaborative cases are played out in a more private and intimate setting, where frank conversations can be had about children, financials and other aspects of divorce. It’s a means of finding out what’s important to the family involved, when sadly a marriage or relationship breaks down.”

LIAM Goggin has joined the Leigh-based personal injury department at Stephensons Solicitors.

Mr Goggin is the second personal injury solicitor to join the team in the past two months, following Shahina Sakeira’s arrival from Railli in October. He has joined from Dylan Nair Solicitors in Penwortham, near Preston.

Kate Sweeney, partner and head of personal injury at Stephensons, said: “Our 37-strong team works extremely hard to ensure justice and compensation for people who have suffered an injury that wasn’t their fault.”

GILL Stanyer has joined procurement and cost reduction specialists Businesswise Solutions in Nelson as energy operations manager.

Miss Stanyer previously worked for facilities management company GSH dealing with corporate clients.

She said: “I started with my former employer in the administration department but was advised to move into energy some years ago and, during this time, I have built up a strong portfolio of skills and knowledge within this exciting and ever changing sector.”

MANCHESTER-based property management company Capital Properties has appointed Libby Collingburn as the new head of its marketing and events team.
 
She joins from Proteintech where she was head of marketing and led the Libby Collingburn Capital Propertiescompany’s global marketing campaign.

She will now oversee Capital Properties’ asset marketing strategies in her role as head of its events branch, Capital Life.
 
Capital Properties manages assets nationwide and has a presence in Manchester, Leeds, London and Aberdeen. Capital Life leads marketing campaigns, hosts events and creates videos to promote areas such as Manchester’s Spinningfields.

ENGINEERING consultant ABB Consulting has appointed Louise Cornelia as its new human resources manager.

She previously worked at insurance group AXA, where she managed a large operational team providing administration and payroll support for 12,000 employees and managers.

At Daresbury-based ABB Consulting she will work on recruitment, and career development as well as co-ordinating recognition and talent management programmes.

She will also oversee HR operations at ABB Consulting’s Teesside office.

She said: “The organisation has a global presence and I’m looking forward to working alongside a management team with ambitious growth plans. I’ve certainly joined at an exciting time.”
