Corbett ‘to leave’ Moneysupermarket

GERALD Corbett, chairman of price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com, is expected to step down next year.

According to Sky News a headhunting firm has been apointed to find his successor.

Mr Corbett, the former head of Railtrack, has been with the company for seven years.

It floated in 2007 at 170p and the shares are now valued at 182.5p giving the group, which is based at Ewloe near Chester, a market capitalisation of £989m.

Sky said the price comparison sector is braced for a wide-ranging review by the City watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Moneysupermarket is one of the few major sites not to have direct ties to a major insurance company, a relationship that is partly behind the FCA’s interest in the sector.
