Roxtec lines up water treatment contract

CABLE seal manufacturer Roxtec has won a contract to supply a £220m water treatment upgrade project in London.
The Bury-based company is supplying multi-cable transit seals to Thames Water for its Crossness sewage treatment works.
Roxtec UK managing director Graham O’Hare said: “Our seals can withstand extremely high water pressure to prevent water ingress which is vital in a project of this nature.
“They are being used to seal power and control cables in the water works, a thermal hydrolysis plant and a wind turbine. The gas tight seals are also helping to protect local wildlife by preventing sewage from entering the River Thames while guarding against fumes.”
Roxtec was founded in Sweden in 1990. It has a global turnover of £115m and is active in 70 markets. In the UK it employs 17 staff and had sales of around £3.7m in 2012.
