Ward Hadaway takes on EOS Law cases

WARD Hadaway picked up most of the work in progress from failed firm EOS Law, according to administrators.

Dermot Power and Patrick Lannagan were appointed to the Manchester firm on December 4.

They said 11 staff had already been made redundant and a further six lost their jobs following their appointment.

EOS was set up in 2010 by Simon Woolley a former managing partner at DLA Piper in Manchester. It was described as a boutique firm with a focus on corporate law.

The administrators have handed the cases not taken on by Ward Hadaway to corporate lawyer Kevin Philbin who is a partner at Atticus Legal.

Mr Power said: “Unfortunately, the economic climate and difficult trading conditions have significantly affected the business, together with pressures on working capital.

“We have worked closely with the managing partner and the Solicitors Regulation Authority to ensure that all work in progress and client files were transferred in a satisfactory manner. We are grateful to the staff for their support during this difficult period. The joint administrators will now work to realise the firm’s remaining assets.”
