ELECTRONIC cigarettes firm Liberty Flights has acquired extra office space close to its base in Blackburn.

It has bought 8 and 9 Arkwright Court at Blackburn Interchange in Darwen.
 
The buildings, which total some 4,000 sq ft, have been sold by Stafford-based computing firm Blackroc Technologies.

GVA advised Blackrock, while AC Surveyors acted for Liberty Flights.

A JOINT venture between Graham Construction and Kier, which both have offices in Manchester, has been awarded a place on the National Capital Works Framework for the design and build of large-scale construction projects on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The framework, managed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) covers contracts valued at between £12m and £50m and could be worth as much as £400m.

It will run for four years, with an option to extend for a further three years.

Graham’s executive director said: “This is a significant opportunity for our business and provides further evidence of the strength of the Graham offer and its position as a national contractor. We are delighted that the Kier Graham Defence JV has been selected by the Ministry of Defence and look forward to demonstrating its capability in the delivery of technically complex construction projects on a national basis.”

MANCHESTER landlord Hurstwood has completed another letting at its Railway House office building in Chorley.

Suite three has been let on a 12-month deal to Home Angels Chorley, a homecare provider which specialises in dementia care.

The firm’s Nicolla Bishop said: “I’m thrilled to be taking Home Angels Chorley to Railway House. This business hub is central to the community we serve, and its great being amongst other successful local businesses.

“This will become the base for my award winning business and hopefully provide a professional creative space to meet my staff and clients.”

Railway House is just outside Chorley town centre, one mile from Junction 8 on the M61.
