Liverpool nets Vauxhall partnership deal

LIVERPOOL FC has signed a deal with car manufacturer Vauxhall for the brand to be its automotive partner in Europe until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Vauxhall, part of General Motors, has a manufacturing plant at Ellesmere Port, is already a sponsor of all four home nations’ football teams.

Duncan Aldred, chairman and managing director of Vauxhall said: “Vauxhall Motors has enjoyed great success over the past three seasons with our Home Nations football sponsorships.

“This exciting new partnership will undoubtedly benefit from  the experience we have gained in international football and we look forward to working with an iconic club such as Liverpool FC.”

Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at LFC, said of Vauxhall: “Not only do they bring with them a wealth of exciting football activation experience but they also play a key role in the lives of many in Merseyside as one of the largest employers in the North West region.”

Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant employs more than 1,500 people and makes the Astra model.
