Cash and carry goes into administration

A BUSINESS that runs Chinese cash and carries in Liverpool has gone into administration.

Administrators from the accountancy firm KPMG are looking for a buyer for the Dales Group which employs 100 staff and has a turnover of £30m.

It operates two cash and carries and a distribution site in the city as well as a depot in Blackpool.

Group company Oriental Food Service went into administration two weeks ago. It has now been followed by the remaining three group companies – CWTL, Dales Group and China Gate.

In a statement joint administrator Paul Dumbell said: “We are continuing to trade the operation with a view to achieving a going concern sale of the business. We would urge any parties who may be interested in acquiring the business to contact us as soon as possible.”
